Can you use Becel light for baking?
Just like butter, Becel®margarine can be used for cooking, baking, roasting, sautéing, and grilling. It’s a simple swap: substitute it on a 1:1 ratio for butter in any recipe.
Which Becel is best for baking?
We love to bake it up with Becel® Buttery Taste, which contains 80% less saturated fat than butter.
Can you bake with low fat margarine?
Generally, you can use reduced-fat spread instead of butter and you shouldn’t notice a difference in taste or texture. Just be sure to use a spread with no less than 60% fat. Although there are spreads with less fat than this, they tend not to work so well in baking. The same applies to pastry.
Is Becel Light margarine healthy?
Margarine can be healthy—just read the label.
For example, Becel is mostly made of heart-healthy canola and sunflower oils, with a small amount of palm oil to stabilize it and some buttermilk powder and salt.
Can you bake with light margarine?

We do not recommend them for baking. The higher water content causes cakes to stick to baking pans, creates coarser textures, brown less, become tougher, and become stale more quickly.
Do you have to refrigerate Becel?
Margarine should always be kept sealed in your refrigerator. Exposure to air, light and heat can all oxidize the fats in margarine, causing rancidity and spoilage.
How long does Becel margarine last in the fridge?
Margarine lasts 3-4 months unopened, should be stored in the fridge, and consumed within 2 months of opening. Butter and margarine can be frozen: up to 6-9 months for butter and 6-8 months for margarine. Butter and margarine have gone bad when they have sour smell and taste, have mold, or are discolored.
Can you bake with Flora Light?

What is the healthiest fat to bake with?
The recipes are low in natural sugars and made from wholesome ingredients that make you feel great inside out. My favourite fats for baking and raw desserts are extra virgin olive oil, grass fed butter or ghee, macadamia nut oil, cold-pressed coconut oil and avocado oil.
What is light margarine?
Light margarine contains a higher percentage of water than traditional margarine, making it lower in calories and fat. Even though it contains less saturated fats than regular margarine, it may still contain some partially hydrogenated oils.
