“What do I do?”

Whenever I’m at a cocktail party and am asked the age-old question of, “what do you do?”, I never know where to start. But, here’s the long story short…

I grew up in Atlanta and attended the prestigious Westminster School, one of the elite prep schools in the country. From there, I matriculated to the University of Alabama, where I double-majored in English Literature and Spanish and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Marketing. Upon graduation, I accepted a position with a boutique marketing and management consulting firm with a roster of Fortune 500 clients. While there, I gained experience in working with high-profile, high-demand clients including Newell­ Rubbermaid, Novartis, Sun Trust, and Orkin. He also worked closely with their advertising partners.

Change of Heart

After a little more than a year, I had a massive change of heart and followed my passion into the world of cooking, a passion I’d pursued since high school.

Eventually, I opened my first restaurant at the age of 28, growing into the role of executive chef and restaurant leader.

I’ve been able to build a large, dedicated following centered around writing on my website (I’m grateful that you’re here), public speaking, and TV appearances all over the Southeast.

My Mission

My mission now is to further use my writing, speaking, and professional engagements to help individuals in all walks of life to lead fulfilling, successful careers.

You might have come across any number of my articles that have enjoyed a wide readership. Certain articles have been published in The Huffington Post, The Observer and most recently, Upworthy. I also have recipes that have been published by Home & Garden, Wine Enthusiast, and various other publications and websites. I regularly speak on topics such as leadership, overcoming failure, business issues, and entrepreneurship.
